Frequently asked questions How can I get to Ottawa? Several airlines serve Ottawa directly. There are also several flights daily from across Canada, the United-States and major centers around the world to Ottawa. A shuttle service is available from the airport to the hotel for a fee of $14.What should I do when I arrive at the Conference? Begin by checking in at the Registration Desk located at the top of the stairs in the lobby.May I register or make purchases on site? You may register for the Conference, or add to your existing Conference registration, on site at the Conference Registration Desk. You may enroll in any open pre-Conference professional development workshop, but many will have filled before the conference. Tickets for the Monday evening dinner and entertainment will be available at the registration desk. Registration for the Tuesday social events will be available at the Registration Desk.What about simultaneous translation? All of the plenary sessions, the Case Competition, the Awards Luncheon and the CES Annual General Meeting will have simultaneous translation services. Receivers for English and French simultaneous interpretation are available near the registration desk. You will be asked to leave your driver's licence or credit card as a deposit that will be given back to you when your headset is returned.What is included in my registration? Standard Conference registration includes admission to all of the sessions held on Monday, June 1 through to Wednesday, June 3 with the exception of the Monday night dinner and entertainment and the Tuesday night social events. Registration also includes the opening reception on Sunday.May I register for only one or two days? No. The registration fee is only available for the whole Conference.What is the difference between a workshop and a presentation? Training and development workshops, also called pre-Conference workshops, are offered on Sunday, May 31 and require a separate registration. They are practical sessions geared to developing the competencies of evaluators. Presentations include paper presentations, panels and posters. They are intended for sharing knowledge and experience in evaluation and constitute the core of the activities of the Conference, from June 1 – 3, 2009.
